Most of Baltimore County MD's trash (and so-called recyclables, including deadly plastic packaging) is burned in the city's awful BRESCO/Wheelabrator/WinWaste incinerator. Or it goes into methane spewing landfill.
In Baltimore County and Maryland, we need the TRUE zero waste path.
To start, here are three County improvements in two years, of which our coalition is proud:
1) yard waste must be in paper bags
2) residential composting is legal
3) a ban on single use plastic bags in shops (thx Councilman Patoka for your leadership!)
As I wrote a few years ago, we have bigger ideas! Let's do this!
